Dr. Anat Eshed earned her Ph.D. in physics from the Israel Institute of Technology and spent over a decade working as a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 2004, Dr. Eshed started transitioning to, and focusing her career in the area of special education. Dr. Eshed is looking forward to completing the Specialist in Assessment of Intellectual Functioning (SAIF) program in May 2012 from Rivier College, where she is finishing her training and specialization in the identification of cognitive processing deficits, evaluation of learning disabilities, as well as cognitive and academic assessments as part of the identification of other educational disabilities. Dr. Eshed draws from her experience as a scientist by utilizing a variety of assessment procedures and applying strong analytical skills to evaluate struggling students. As an evaluator, she works collaboratively with parents, educators, and service provides. She attends IEP team meetings to plan for and review evaluations, to determine eligibility (504/IEP) and placement. She provides consultations on issues such as appropriate programs, instruction, accommodations, modifications, assistive technology, and placement. She is knowledgeable in and follows closely updates to the Federal and State laws and regulations related to the education of students with disabilities. She has provided consultations to many families including those of students who experience developmental delays, auditory processing disorders, speech and language impairments, attention deficits, learning disabilities, anxiety, as well as autism spectrum disorders. |
