Angela Burke, M.A., Ph.D. Candidate
Educational Liaison

Ms. Burke received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Roger Williams University and her Master of Arts in Psychology from Suffolk University. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Suffolk University with a concentration in child and family services. Ms. Burke's clinical training experiences include serving as a preschool behavioral and mental health consultant, conducting individual and group counseling services at the Edith Norse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, and providing a variety of elementary-level intervention and psychological assessment services within the Chelmsford Public Schools.

Ms. Burke's work experience includes several years of pragmatic and behavioral skills group interventions for children with developmental disabilities, attentional difficulties, and internalizing and externalizing problems. She specializes in devising and implementing individual and group-based behavior plans as well as conducting both parent and teacher trainings on various child development and behavior management topics. Ms. Burke is CPI certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. In the education field, Mr. Burke teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Suffolk University, teaching General Psychology and Child Development. She also worked as a college-level tutor for several years. As a volunteer, Ms. Burke serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate Guardian ad Litem for CASA of NH, advocating for abused and neglected children in the court system.

Ms. Burke's dissertation research involves examination of emotional development in an at-risk preschool population through the framework of Acceptance and Mindfulness theory. Her master's thesis examined a manualized pediatric OCD intervention with the aim of identifying interactional processes that lead to optimal treatment outcome.

Ms. Burke conducts psychological testing at The Counseling Center, and she serves as an Educational Liaison conveying information regarding psychological testing and/or therapy to schools systems attempting to develop IEP or Section 504 plans to address students' learning, behavioral, or emotional challenges.
