Dr. Loralie Lawson received a Master of Arts degree in Psychology in 1984 and a doctorate in Psychology in 1991 from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Her academic specialty there was psychological testing.

Dr. Lawson has practiced since 1985 in Minnesota and in West Virginia. In 1991 Dr. Lawson opened and maintained a private practice in psychology in a rural part of West Virginia. She has been licensed in New Hampshire since 2003, and is a life member of the West Virginia Psychological Association, a member of the New Hampshire Psychological Association, and of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.

Dr. Lawson is a generalist seeing children, adolescents, and adults. Although she works with a wide variety of psychological issues, she has established a specialty interest in treating child or adult victims of abuse or other forms of trauma. Dr. Lawson qualified in several West Virginia counties as an expert witness in child abuse and related areas.

In addition to working with trauma and abuse victims, Dr. Lawson works with people experiencing depression, anxiety and panic attacks, adjustment disorders, people who are working at maintaining sobriety, and people with various other life problems. She provides couple's counseling and group therapy for parenting, social skills training, abuse survivors (child or adult), or other general psychological issues. She also has specialized expertise in career counseling, and assists individuals to determine directions for career interest and change.
