Catherine M. Wargo, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Wargo earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at DeSales University, PA and worked as a residential counselor with emotionally-disturbed females as well as in a school with autistic children. In addition, she obtained a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College, NY, and worked in an intensive partial hospitalization program with children. Prior to entering her doctoral training program, Dr. Wargo was employed as a clinical case manager with families involved with the Department of Children & Families Services who were often court-ordered and at risk for losing their children to an out of home placement. Dr. Wargo recently graduated with her Doctorate in Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology/ DC Campus. Dr. Wargo is also a member of the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Wargo comes to The Counseling Center of Nashua with diverse clinical experiences. She has worked at the Center for Psychiatric Services in Virginia, performing evaluations in the emergency room as well as in an inpatient hospital. She has provided individual, family, and group therapy to military personnel and their families and has conducted substance abuse and employment evaluations. Dr. Wargo has also worked at a college counseling center providing individual therapy to students and group therapy. In addition, Dr. Wargo completed an APA-Accredited Internship at Ulster County Community Mental Health, NY, where she provided individual, family, and group services to children, adolescents, and adults. In addition, she performed court-ordered substance abuse evaluations, persons in need of supervision evaluations, and sex offender evaluations. She also ran a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Group for Adults and a Children's Trauma Group. Most recently, Dr. Wargo completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship specializing in assessment with children. Common assessment concerns addressed are ADHD, mood symptoms, learning disorders, and personality issues. Dr. Wargo also specializes in using the Rorschach Inkblot Technique, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to adolescents and adults. In addition to her specialty interests listed above, she has expertise in ADHD and Learning Disability Assessment, school consultation, child behavior management training for parents, and pediatric psychology in general.
