Range of Services
Dr. Barry earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from
Western Michigan University after completing her pre-doctoral
internship at the University of New Hampshire Counseling
Center. She earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology
from Boston College and her Bachelors in Psychology from
University of New Hampshire. Dr. Barry is licensed to practice
in New Hampshire and is a member of the American
Psychological Association and the Association for Applied
Sport Psychology.
Coleen H. Barry, Ph.D.
Dr. Barry has diverse clinical experience. Prior to coming to The Counseling Center of Nashua, Dr.
Barry was a Mental Health Counselor and the Coordinator of the Women's Crisis Center at the Franklin
Pierce University Outreach Education Center where she also taught two undergraduate level
Psychology of Gender courses. Dr. Barry has provided mental health services on many university
campuses, in community mental health centers, in community outreach programs, and in residential
treatment facilities. She also has experience as a sport psychology consultant and a career counselor.

Dr. Barry greatly enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. She provides
psychological services individually, with couples, and in groups. Dr. Barry has expertise in treating
clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, substance abuse,
health issues, relationship issues, multicultural issues, grief or loss, and family issues. Dr. Barry
specializes in treating eating disorders, body image issues, women's issues, identity issues (career,
sexual orientation, gender, self-esteem, etc), and sport psychology issues. Dr. Barry has a purposefully
eclectic clinical approach, drawing largely from relational, cognitive behavioral, and feminist theoretical
perspectives.
