Mr. Magee graduated from St. John Fisher College in
Rochester NY with a BA in Philosophy and Psychology. He
received his Masters Degree in Social Work from the
University of Connecticut. Mr. Magee completed an internship
at the Italian Home for Children in Jamaica Plain, MA. He is a
member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, and also
a Board Certified Diplomate through the American Board of
Examiners.

He worked for 6 years in different aspects of child protective
services working with children and families. Most recently, he
spent over 23 years as a manager and psychotherapist at the
local Community Mental Health Center. In that capacity Mr.
Magee had clinical and programmatic responsibility for the
outpatient component of agency services, as well as the
process of entry to the system. He has provided clinical
supervision to both experienced and beginning therapists for
many years.

For the past 13 years he has coordinated and co-lead the Nashua area's Batterer's Intervention
Program - a psycho educational group program for men found to have perpetrated domestic violence. He
is knowledgeable about abuse issues generally and, in particular, the dynamics involved in domestic
violence.

His therapeutic approach incorporates flexibility and clinical competence with a diverse client
population including many different diagnostic categories. He is well versed in such evidenced-based
practices as cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as interpersonal types of therapy, skill building, and
insight-oriented approaches - depending upon client need. He has worked with trauma victims and
individuals negatively impacted by experiences in their family of origin. He is comfortable working with
couple's issues and relationship issues generally. Mr. Magee is able to work with those having
significant mental health problems, as well as those having problems in living, and simply needing
objective feedback on a particular issue or help exploring one aspect of a problem.
